Burr Grinders

Nothing starts the day right than a nice hot cup of coffee.  People who usually have to leave the house early in the morning need a boost of energy in order to help them concentrate and focus even when they’re still too tired or sleepy.  So to keep them awake, they would brew themselves a cup or mug of coffee for extra energy that will last them all throughout the day.  This is why almost every household in the United States has its own coffee grinder – and those “in the know” own burr grinders.  This machine basically grinds coffee beans and brews fresh coffee in just a matter of minutes.  With this, you don’t have to spend for coffee made in expensive coffee shops plus you get freshly made coffee since you’re grinding and brewing it yourself.

There are two popular kinds of grinders being used to make good coffee, one of which is known as the burr grinder.  Burr grinders work by crushing the coffee beans between the grinding wheel, which is constantly moving, and a non-moving surface.  With burr grinders, coffee beans are loaded into a hopper, which then feeds them into a grinding mechanism causing the burring sound.  Once the beans have been grounded, they are either deposited into a detachable receptacle or transferred directly into your espresso machine.  This would depend, of course, on the model of your grinder.  Some burr grinders are equipped only with the basic grinding facilities while others come with extra features such as an espresso machine, gear reduction, a slow speed yet heavy-duty grinding motor, and the like.

Burr grinders are also divided into 2 categories, which are the wheel burr and the conical burr.  The wheel burr is equipped with a wheel that spins very fast, producing more noise when grinding coffee.  It is also the kind of burr grinder that creates more mess than necessary because of the fast rotation of the wheel, making it cheaper and more affordable than the conical burr grinder.  The second type of burr grinder is known as the conical burr.  This type rotates on a much slower rate as compared to the wheel burr, so it’s less noisy and messy when grinding the beans and making coffee.  It also can be used to make flavored coffees, making it more expensive as compared to the wheel burr.  But if you’re the type who prefers good quality over price, this is the kind of burr grinder you should go for.

So if you want freshly made coffee everyday before heading off to work, you can buy yourself a burr grinder to do the job for you.  All you need is your favorite bag of coffee beans and the grinder to make your coffee in just a few minutes.
